Kearney, Nebraska

Hockey fever is sweeping the nation and the cities of Kearney, Grand Island, and Hastings are proud to join in. Part of the United States Hockey League, the Tri-City Storm took to the ice for the first time in 2000. A new 97,000-square-foot facility houses the new team and loyal fans.

With members who are 16 to 21years old trying to move to the collegiate or professional hockey level, the Storm in their inaugural season made the playoffs and lost to the Lincoln Stars in the Clark Cup semifinals. The Storm was named the USHL's Organization of the year.

Season: Late September through March with USHL playoffs in April.
